The lawyers of McEldrew & Fullam believe that they have a moral obligation to provide legal services to many of those in their community who are most in need of such services, to give a legal voice to those who are voiceless, and to empower those who are powerless. They have made a firm commitment to devoting time and talent to the public good by helping those less fortunate, especially those who have been victimized by large corporations and bureaucracies.

As a result, McEldrew & Fullam devote a considerable amount of their time to providing pro bono work on behalf of several important charities, including the Support Center for Child Advocates, Toys for Tots, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, and Volunteers for the Indigent. As Volunteers for the Indigent, for example, the firm and several other firms arranged for 100 poor families and individuals in Philadelphia to receive free legal services, especially in areas involving tenant-landlord disputes, custody, adoption, child and spousal support, harassment and discrimination in the workplace, consumer complaints, immigration, and tort defense.

For the Gregory Moyer Fund, McEldrew & Fullam helped to get defibrillators into every high school in Philadelphia.

“As responsible members of the judicial system, we have an obligation to ensure that all members of our society are afforded the legal benefits that they are entitled to under that system. And we shall continue working diligently to help bring about that result,” said Mr. McEldrew at a recent Board meeting of The Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association.
